Cecelia is busy working on her summer school (writer's workshop) so I thought I would write too!!
Here's what the kiddos have been up to the last few months!
Cecelia finished kindergarten! (6 1/2 years old)
She is also infatuated with her little sister. Charlotte is the topic of every book she writes and every pictures she draws! I know she is enjoying being able to be home!
Cecelia's recent high- princess camp.
Cecelia's pending low- swim lessons start next week. Eek.
Coletyn is blossoming before my very eyes. (3 1/2 years old)
His speech is hilarious now. He gets his point across but the misuse of vocabulary words or the use of other words when he doesn't know which word he need is hilarious. For instance, yesterday he was asking me all day for the 'big green scarf.' It took me a few hours to realize that he was asking for the green boa that I threw away days prior. He also has started quoting movies and inserting the quotes in proper places in conversation. It's great!
He is turning into such a sweet boy. At the movies the other night, each kid got to pick one snack. In the middle of the movie, Coletyn turns to me and whispers. He asked for permission to share some of his treats with his sister. It was adorable and you could see he wasn't expecting anything in return. MY BOY!
A few weeks back a girlfriend was coming over for dinner with her two year old. I was in the kitchen prepping and saw Coletyn tugging on the hose. I went out to ask him what he was doing with it (expecting to have to reprimand him since he didn't have permission to use the hose) and he said he was trying to move the hose so baby Lucy wouldn't trip on it. MY BOY!
He is also so sweet to his baby sister. Once in a while you can catch him just holding her hand. MY BOY!
If this is any inkling of the young man he will grow to be, Cecelia and Charlotte will be lucky sisters! I may be one lucky momma too! This morning while I was getting ready he heard the washing machine cycle beep end and went on his own to the basement and switched the laundry from the washer to the dryer. MY BOY!
Miss Charlotte is just adorable! (5 months on 6/29)
She is all smiles, hold her toys, found her feet and is in love with her big brother and big sister. She was being a little pistol sleeping recently so I bit the bullet and sleep trained her (only took 3 bedtimes). Now the last few nights she has slept 10-12 hours and gotten up zero or one times. Thank you baby, you were starting to kill your mommy. I realized what was going on though. Since we don't use pacis, had her swaddled and was still rocking her to sleep she couldn't get herself back to sleep when she would wake up or go through her sleep cycles. Allowing her to figure it out and removing the swaddle has made her and me much more happy. She wasn't getting consolidated sleep and I was ready to slit my wrists! Hallelujah! (3 and 6 month pictures coming soon!!)
It's a pretty great little life we've got going on here!
